Updated my Behance, check it out if you have a spare minute, there some pictures of my work and stuff.

A selection of photos from my self promotion pack created in response to the last brief of first year.

I created a promotional pack that can be sent to creative agencies over summer, hopefully getting me a work placement!

The visual theme is based around my craft driven design practice and love for different printing methods.

The pack is A5 in size and consists of;
A portfolio booklet
An A2 screen-printed poster
An A3 lino cut self portrait
A printable business card (made from cut lino)
& packaging to keep it all together.

Images of a booklet I designed for a recent brief.

The aim of the book is to introduce first year graphic design students to ten design principles that they will be covering in their first academic year at university.

The book was digitally printed onto an off white sugar paper then hand bound using the single signature binding technique.

Set of images from a brief being handed in this Friday.

We had to create something that would benefit the first year graphic design students who start in September.

So, I made an ice-breaking game that will be played in their first two weeks on the course. The game asks introductory questions, to which the participants have sixty seconds to visually communicate the answer to. The game is designed to be fun, light hearted and help develop the participants visual communication skills.

The outcome was screen printed onto environmentally friendly recycled cardboard :)

The sleeve design is my entry for the Secret 7 design competition, the illustration was created for Public Enemy’s track ‘Harder Than You Think’. The lyrics of the song celebrate the long hard career of Public Enemy, and aim to inspire others to work hard to achieve success. I wanted to produce an inspiring illustration that captured the feeling of hard work, triumph and victory.

‘Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima’ is an historic photograph that captured a collection of American troops raising an American flag during battle. It portrays all of the messages I wanted to achieve with my design and also has relevance to the song title. Therefore, I created an illustration reflecting qualities of the Iwo Jima image with members of Public Enemy.

Hand-bound book created for a recent uni project.

It uses inforgraphics to inform and educate about ‘XENU’ the secret alien lord Scientologists believe in.

This one is actually printed on the wrong stock, needs to be re-made and printed on some smooth 90 gsm paper.

Created using Illustrator and Indesign.

My first attempt at tattooing.

Had a few problems with the depth of the needle as I set it up slightly too long. I first sketched the design in pencil then tattooed over the lines using a 5RL needle, which was too thin. I want to experiment with different needle sizes next time. There are a few mistakes and some dodgy lining, but I will hopefully get better with more practice.

Original design is not mine.
